Work with a peer and observe their lessons. Use Pedagram to provide objective feedback.
Pedagram is simple, intuitive and can be used for any lesson. The app provides users feedback on the use of technology in the classroom. Pedagram gives users control over their own professional learning and enables them to easily engage in peer observations whenever they want.
Pedagram presents and organises observational data into a colour coded visual report. The report is easy to understand and gives users the agency to analyse their own use of technology and reflect on possible areas of improvement.
Pedagram was developed with the user and their learning as its central focus. The app was designed to provide users with a simple user interface that would enable them to input data easily without getting distracted by the technology.
Pedagram aims to contribute to the professional growth of both the observer and instructor conducting the lesson by getting them to think about and reflect on the questions asked.
The emphasis on observational data ensures that the reviewer's feedback is objective and focused on instructor and student actions. This increases the likelihood of a positive post-observation conversation.
Instructor and observer might have an informal pre-observation discussion informal pre-observation discussion after they learn a new pedagogical approach or application. Colleagues should agree on the focus of the observation and what they hope to learn from it so both the observer and teacher are focused on the same learning objective.
An informal post-observation conversation should also take place when the observer shares with the teacher the PDF visual report. Colleagues might study the results, critically reflect on them, and collaboratively discuss what concrete steps the teacher might consider taking to get better.
